Actually, BraveBrain has named one of his characters same as one of the Earth-Kin's without his knowledge.  I have to say that his character is much nicer looking and a lot less awkward than the long legged very ugly Earth-Kin NPC ... Maybe I'm just biased =P

Did BraveBrain copy the name or is it a coincidence? I had no idea about the NPC when I named my character. In fact, it was the first character I created and I hadn't even played the game at that point. I got the suffix from the naming suggestions, but the "Tor" prefix was my creation...or so I thought, heh.

Like most my character names I chose a more or less common variant of old norse names, and I always pick a name that has some kind of meaning that "pleases me".

In this case (Aslak) the name is of norse origin and consists of the words "aas" (god) and "lakr" (aka leikr, game, play, sport, battle), commonly explained as Divine Sport in English. Scandinavian descriptions of the lakr/leikr part is more frequent towards the "battle" and especially the "battle with weapons" meanings.

We didn't know about the Earth-kin untill we ran into him in Angmar a couple of weeks ago. Bravesania is right about that giant being ugly, but he sure is tall as well. Isn't that a commonly wanted feature?
